Read on for our exclusive interview with Sharon, where she will be sharing the story of her success including how she came to be an expert in her field.
Sharon Callix is a social media wizard and a fully accredited and endorsed expert in her field. Her specialties are social media sales and growing an online presence with a fully integrated strategy across all the major social media platforms.
Sharon’s expertise and passion is well renowned in business circles, having helped some of the most successful business owners in the UK and Europe (such as Sky News!) to win new customers and close some sales!
She is regarded as one of the best in the business, owed in part to her professionalism and commitment, but also the sheer passion involved in her work. Her delivery, her management and particularly her aftercare really set her apart from her competition, so much she was an obvious choice for our Social Media Consultant Award. But how did she get to the point of such prominence? We caught up with her to find out.
Q. So, what is the secret of Sharon’s success?
In what I do you have to be really genuine, authentic and trustworthy. Clients have given me their business and if you’re not a people person you’re not going to attract people. I wear my mission on my sleeve. I believe I offer them value and give them more. People remember the little things you do for them. So I go the extra mile. I ask clients what they expect from me. Their feedback gives me goose bumps.
I really care about people’s business and have an obligation to make it happen. I want them to remember me.
Q: What has the year since your win at our awards brought you?
Following the win I received more business opportunities, and initiations to be featured in launches and be part of great social media campaigns. My biggest call was from Sky News, inviting me to Headquarters to commentate on how to handle abuse on social media in relation to celebrities. This was really an phenomenal experience and was a result of my online presence on Twitter.
I’m definitely more successful and am working with some of the most respected names in the corporate and business industries. I’m working in areas I never thought I’d would work and I’m getting extraordinary testimonials. The best part is contributing to the success of a business or campaign.
Q. Have you had any ‘wow’ moments?
I [have been able] to sponsor another orphan with special needs which is something close to my heart. Another ‘wow’ moment was being invited to the House of Commons and speaking alongside people I only used to hear about in the media, delivering a message on how social media can make a message go viral.
I have had so many ‘wow’ moments, all through my online platforms. I am so happy to share the results of how effective Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook are when connecting and being approached to do business. It’s such a great feeling.
Q: What’s on the cards for the future?
I have just delivered a presentation at an international award ceremony in the USA. I was invited last year and really excited and thrilled to be amongst such caliber of people. The niche is so exclusive, speaking to financial advisors and wealth managers.
Winning has created more opportunities. I have also just written my first Twitter course. “How to utilise Twitter for business and get targeted followers”. I’m currently writing my LinkedIn course.
I am being interviewed for a new book in February called, ‘Empowered Women in the U.K.’
I have been booked for many speaking events and workshops until May so far. This is to a corporate audience and start ups to teach how to become an authority in your niche using social media to people and convert them into paying clients.
I have also be given the privilege to be an ambassador for Heritage TV.
Q: Where is your success taking you in a monetary sense?
I wanted to prove you can make a business with no capital. I systemized my business and visualized where I wanted to be and by when. I didn’t believe it was possible and wanted to challenge myself. I never checked my bank balance and kept going. Last Christmas I checked my account and was totally shocked.
Of course each month is different. One month can be £10k and one could be less. It depends on what campaign I have going and what I’m offering. I don’t need to have 50 clients. I have positioned myself well enough to create an income that is passive in addition to the social media management services and coaching services I offer. My product price points range from the cheapest on amazon at 99c up until what I need to charge to get the results.
I implement strategies and take action, I stay in touch with my clients and ensure they continue to implement what I have shown them and see how well they’ve done.
I am motivated by results.
Q: Do you have any advice for the APCTC members?
Yes; work smart and take breaks and don’t get caught up doing stuff that’s not productive. In other words prioritize.
For example; How many times do you check your email a day? Make a rule to check it something like only at 10am and 4pm.
