To celebrate the launch of our flagship training 7 Figure Expert into the public sphere, I am sharing a few excerpts to whet your appetite. Next up we have an excerpt from Module 3 of the full 7 Figure Expert series:
Creating your Coaching Lifestyle
This is a question of time, because time and money are the two things that will ultimately create the kind of lifestyle you want to lead. As such, this is a question of delegation… and how to delegate accordingly.
The first question for you to consider is:
How much time do you want to spend in your business?
Some people are happy spending every hour under the sun working… and that’s what fulfills them! Others perhaps would be open to having perhaps a lower income and to work more casually, say just a few hours a day. Others like to have large swathes of time off… and then spend short times working very intensely. And some like the more conventional Monday-Friday set up.
How your time is structured is essential to creating the lifestyle you wish to lead, so take some time to write down how you’d best like to spend your time.
The next question is one of the most powerful tasks you will ever undertake. Implement it, and it could change everything.
List every task within your business and catagorise them as £10, £100 or £1000 tasks
This works for every minute detail, from the trivial to the crucial. This is ultimately a task to determine where your time is best spent.
£10 tasks are tasks that can be done by pretty much anyone
£100 tasks you can do, but can also delegate out to others who will either do a better job, or your time could be better spent elsewhere
£1000 tasks are the tasks that you are uniquely qualified to do, and are where your time is best spent
Distraction from the £1000 tasks is bad for your business, and you should aim to do as much £1000-tasking with your time as you can.
Who do you need to hire to complete your £10 tasks and when?
Unless you get the £10 tasks off your desk, you’re never going to get to the £100 tasks. And that’s without even considering the £1000 ones! For this task it’s important to be specific, and to set a goal. If you don’t do it now, there’s a good chance you never will!
This doesn’t have to be an employee, but it could be. And remember: one person can cover a multitude of £10 tasks. The important thing is, you’re not doing them.
Who do you need to hire to complete your £100 tasks and when?
If you’re going to create a business, you have to know in advance the kind of team you will want around you, and what you want your business to look like. Be specific and set timed goals.
You don’t have to get this perfect straight away, and it will likely be a work in process. The time you save through delegation can either be spent on your £1000 tasks… or leisure/family time. What you do with that time is entirely up to you, it’s creating that time in the first place that’s the trick.
